A NEW HOME FOR HARBOR
March 5, 2020

Dear Harbor Families,

I couldn’t be more pleased. If you’ve had the chance to review your re-enrollment package this week, you may recognize these words from my letter. I chose them carefully to express how excited we all are about the facilities at Har Shalom, where Harbor will call home.

The first time I walked through the facility, I was astonished at the beautiful architecture and renovated, stylistic interior spaces at Har Shalom. There are several stunning spaces for community gatherings and indoor recess. The classrooms are light-filled with large windows, and there is plenty of space and flexibility to implement, and build upon, our program - as we have done at St. George for over 25 years.

Did I mention the playground? This will, no doubt, be the biggest selling point for our students! It is HUGE, both sunny and shaded, and there are many multisensory interactive play spaces - a large sandbox, climbing structures, swings, balance beams. There’s even a gaga pit for our older students. (Google describes the sport of Gaga as a kinder, gentler version of dodgeball; I can see a new PE unit in our future!)

We can’t wait to show it to each of you! As you have likely seen, we have scheduled dates for tours in the next two weeks and look forward to walking each of you through the building. If you know when you can join us, please RSVP to help us plan (but it’s also okay to just show up - I know how weekends and evenings can be!)

  • THIS Sunday, 4-6 PM
  • Wednesday the 11th, 6-7:30 PM
  • Wednesday the 18th, 6-7:30 PM

We are also putting together an FAQ document to answer any questions you may have about the space and our move. (For example - yes, summer camp is still happening at St. George!)

We look forward to seeing many of you soon for a tour!

Warm regards,

Leah Musico
