Dear Harbor Families,
For the past two years, we have held very nice virtual events in support of our annual school auction. Complete with highlight videos, faculty, staff, and Board speakers, and even a cocktail making class, they were as wonderful as virtual events can be. If you joined us, I imagine you would agree.
This year, we are absolutely thrilled to be holding A Toast to Harbor in person again. It will be incredible to be together socially as adults in support of our special school next Thursday. The evening will be emceed by our very own DJ StarFish (AKA Mr. Fangboner) and will include an open bar, sushi and other delights, a raffle, and a champagne toast to Harbor! As an all community event, in addition to our parent community, many of the faculty and staff will be joining us, along with returning alumni. We sincerely hope that you will be able to join us; ticket sales close tomorrow, so get yours now!
Bidding on our incredible collection of auction items will begin next week and continue into Thursday evening. Auction items include creative and fun class baskets and art work, unique experiences with teachers (the kids will love these!), and a variety of other goods, services, and gift cards from local vendors! We’re also offering special Harbor experiences such as Head of School for a day, a day with Calvin, and Camp Director for a day - as well as a session of camp, a session of enrichment, and front row seats to special events. You won’t want to miss out on browsing the items and experiences to bid on, as each winning bid supports the school!
Finally, our Raise the Paddle this year will be dedicated to building our library collection of books! We are excited to add to our collection through leveled reading books for classroom instruction, books that support each grade level’s thematic units, and books to better represent the diversity within our community. We’ll raise our virtual paddles (rather than a physical paddle that evening), so you can participate at any time on the auction website. Thank you so very much for your support of this goal, which will enrich the students’ learning throughout each day.
A note on the rising COVID cases in our area - although masks will be optional at the event, please note that part of the evening will be outdoors, and we are asking everyone to please take an at-home antigen test before attending.
We look forward to seeing you on Thursday evening!
Warmly,
Leah Musico
Head of School
