Dear Harbor Families,
There has been a hustle and bustle in the admissions office recently, with interested families visiting for tours and prospective students spending time in our Harbor classrooms. As I’m sure you’ll recall from your own admissions experience, the process is involved and personalized, and like most experiences that are worth the effort, takes time. As a school, we are committed to working closely with incoming families to ensure that we are the right program for their child.
As we are learning about each prospective Harbor student through the admissions process, we are also looking at the current class of students and will make decisions to ensure the integrity of our program. As you well know, our small class sizes, low teacher ratios, and focus on early childhood and early elementary development - along with our unique interdisciplinary, inquiry-based program - support students to thrive through these essential early years. The Harbor metaphor resonates - a safe and nurturing environment, providing young students the tools to prepare for their journey ahead. So we can thoughtfully meet our mission for every student and family, a robust re-enrollment and admissions process is essential.
That’s where you come in! We need to know that your child will be returning to Harbor next year through the re-enrollment process within the next two weeks, to inform our admissions decisions with a commitment to our low ratios. Tomorrow, you will be receiving an email with instructions to re-enroll. We ask that you please sign the contract as soon as possible, and before the February 23rd deadline. This task is so important to our planning and decision-making, so thank you!
If you have any questions about the re-enrollment process or about next year’s grade level program at Harbor, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We look forward to a wonderful 2024-25 school year (when the time comes)!
Warm regards,
Leah Musico
