TWO RARE AND SPECIAL EVENTS!
April 4, 2024

Dear Harbor Families,

There is a buzz of anticipation in our older classes, as students have been learning about Monday’s solar eclipse - the last we will see in the US until 2044! They are making pinhole projectors to safely view this rare and special event, asking questions about the sun's and moon's rotations, and learning about the phenomenon through various means. We are excited to share plans for a community viewing opportunity on Monday at 3:15. (Scroll down for more details about how to join us that afternoon.)

As you know, another rare and very special event is coming up in just over a week. The Golden Gala is the biggest event of the year to celebrate our fiftieth birthday as a school! We are excited that many of you have already registered for a “Nautical Night” at the KID Museum next Saturday evening, which will include a DJ and dancing, delicious dinner, and a full open bar, along with a live and silent auction! Please register today if you have not already done so!

On Monday, if you are able to dress your child in an orange shirt - if possible, the orange Harbor shirt if you have the one you received when your child first came to the school - it would be so helpful! We are planning to take a photo of the students in the formation of a five and a zero (wish us luck with that!) and it would be great to have a lot of orange in the photo!

Finally, we look forward to seeing you at tomorrow morning's Parent Session and Open Classrooms event, where we'll share more about our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion goals and strategies.  We hope you can join us for this as well as the coming events next week!

Warmly,

Leah Musico
