Dear Harbor Families,
It's hard to believe that Saturday is the first day of June! At about this time every year, within the hustle and bustle of our end of year tasks, each of us on the faculty/staff stops to marvel at the incredible growth that our students have made. The second graders look like third graders, the kindergarteners are ready for the big move down the hallway, and our preschoolers have transformed since the beginning of the school year. A year of development and growth in the life of a child, particularly at the developmental stages we serve at Harbor, is just remarkable. We see this in every one of your children!
With the end of the school year less than two weeks away, teachers are writing report cards (which will be shared in mid-June) and are working on end of year tasks. Grade levels are planning end of year celebrations, and students are wrapping up their final thematic units of the school year. Next week, our third graders will be visiting Adventure Island and the Calleva Farm with Calleva’s outdoor education program, while also preparing for their Moving On Ceremony on the 11th! For everyone, it’s an exciting time of reflection, celebration, and of course, looking ahead to summer break.
As you look ahead and solidify your summer plans, please note that we have an exciting summer planned at Camp Harbor! Campers will enjoy themed activities and projects, arts and crafts, interactive games, and lots of outdoor time including Water Wednesdays! Registration is still available for Harbor and non-Harbor students, so feel free to share with friends and neighbors. You can sign up for sessions online and direct any questions to Camp Director Ashley Howard.
If you haven't yet completed the annual parent survey, please take just a few minutes to do so. The Board of Trustees uses this survey data in purposeful ways for continuous school improvement, so your participation makes a difference. Thank you in advance!
And of course, we hope to see you at our end of year Community Movie Night and picnic on the last day of school! Summer, here we come!
Warmly,
Leah Musico
