Dear Harbor Families,
If you have been a Harbor family for a while, you may have several Harbor memory books - or class albums - on your bookshelves at home. Ours are prominently displayed and often revisited, as Emily and Jude absolutely love walking down memory lane while looking through photos of themselves, their classmates, and their teachers, lovingly preserved in a special keepsake. Over the years, alumni families who return to visit and share stories continue to remark on how special the albums are to their children over the years. In fact, in our 50th anniversary video, former Harbor students, about to graduate from high school, talk about their experiences at Harbor while flipping through the pages of their own class albums from years ago!
Different from other schools’ one-size-fits-all “yearbook” approach, Harbor’s class albums are created by current Harbor families who spend hours sorting through photos from the year, collecting photos of individual students from families, and designing unique pages of a Shutterfly book. These are treasures of a childhood which, unfortunately for us parents, seems so short when we look back (as they say, “the days are long and the years are short”), and a labor of love and a true gift from the parents who design them.
A heartfelt thank you - as Head of School and as a mom - to Sheryl Skinner, who has taken on the role of Class Album Coordinator this year, and to her team of designers! I have had the chance to preview most of this year’s albums and they are just beautiful!
We need to have orders in from all families in plenty of time to order the appropriate number of books, so please note that the deadline for ordering is one week from today - Thursday, May 23rd. The link to order is here. In addition to serving families with a treasured keepsake, this is the HSPA’s final fundraiser for the year; we appreciate your support!
Warm regards,
Leah Musico
