Little Sailors: Playful Beginnings
A caregiver-and-child enrichment experience at The Harbor School for children 18 months to 4 years old.
Little Sailors: Playful Beginnings is a joyful, developmentally rich program led by Harbor’s experienced early childhood educators, Ms. Meeta, Ms. Linsey, and Ms. Wilson, and designed for young children and their caregivers to explore, create, and connect together. Through play-based learning, music, and hands-on exploration, children build early learning skills while strengthening their curiosity and confidence in a warm, welcoming environment.
Wednesdays | 11:00–12:00
February 25 – April 22
Ages 18 months–4 years
One caregiver per child
Each session follows a gentle, predictable rhythm that provides young children an ideal introduction to classroom learning.
• Circle Time (11:00–11:10): Songs, movement, stories, and community-building to ease into the morning
• Exploration Stations (11:10–11:30): Open-ended activities including art, blocks, sorting, and manipulatives that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and fine-motor development
• Music & Movement (11:30–12:00): Joyful music experiences that support language development, coordination, and self-expression
This shared experience offers caregivers a meaningful window into Harbor’s play-based, inquiry-driven approach to early learning, while children enjoy the comfort of learning alongside a trusted grown-up—making Little Sailors a wonderful first step into the Harbor community.
