Dear Harbor Families,
With November right around the corner, this week’s Harbor Highlights newsletter is packed with information on upcoming events! And we thought October was full of activity!
In case it’s helpful to have a summary of all the action, here are a few reminders about what’s coming up. Please scroll down for details on each of these events.
Tomorrow - Join us for the Harborween parade and class parties! Drop your child off as usual and park in the front of the building for a 9:30 parade start time. K-3 students are welcome to arrive wearing their costumes, and preschool and JK students will put their class-made costumes on once they arrive!
Next Week - Monday marks the start of our fall Spirit Week (scroll down for themes, which were determined by our third grade leaders). The HSFA Book Fair will be open on Tuesday through Thursday. Thursday evening, we’ll be hosting our annual PJ Party, complete with fire pits and s’mores, a guest author, and the amazing Bake Sale coordinated by Harbor parent and former bakery owner Lindsay Miniaci. Of course, the book fair will be open for shopping that evening. Please park in the front and walk through entrance A of the building, and bring camp chairs or a blanket and dinner.
November 4 - Next Tuesday is Election Day, and at Harbor, that means our third graders will be leading the election for the Spiral theme. Stay tuned for the big announcement next week!
November 14 - It’s parent teacher conference day - in person! See last week’s Harbor Highlights letter for more detail about in-person conferences, and sign up using the links below. Note that although child care will be provided during your conference, there is no school that day.
November 25 - We will be hosting our annual Generations Day, for grandparents, aunts and uncles, other extended family, and special friends, on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving (which is also a noon dismissal). The morning will include breakfast, a performance by our students, and time in the classroom for a shared activity. We are asking that you please provide us with contact information for those guests you would like to receive an invitation by November 10th - and let your child’s special guests know to save the date!
Finally, don’t forget to order items with your child’s artwork from Original Works by this coming Tuesday, and photos of your child from School Photo Day with Glimmer Images by November 10th. These are both great opportunities for wonderful holiday gifts!
We look forward to seeing you at one or all of these events soon!
Warmly,
Leah Musico
Head of School
